Happy Monday!

Gosh its' been a while since I've worn pants on the blog! ;)

But with these temps lately, dresses, skirts, and shorts are much easier to wear and much more breathable!

A few post's ago I played with shades of blue. Today, I'm playing with shades of purple!

This fun look just came to me by chance. I'm weeding through my closet -STILL!- and there are certain things I have such trouble parting with. So, I'll put them to the side and keep trying those pieces with other pieces Which is how this  look was created.

I was surprised with how much I loved the contrast of the royal purple blouse and the fuchsia skirt. The additional color from the bag and the shoes are what really ties the look together.

Happy Friday!

And for all the students and teachers out there, happy last day of school!

This dress I have had for a few years now I LOVE it! Its -regrettably- a dress I tend to forget about a lot. But when I'm cleaning out my closet and I come across it, I just fall in love with it all over again. The floral print is bright and cheerful, the ruffled, uneven hem adds character, and its so comfortable!

For today, I paired it with the most comfortable shoes -Verona wedges. Subtle, but the criss-cross straps add their own charm to the look. The vest, I think, serves as an anchor. It helps tie all the colors together.

I hope you like this look! Have a great Friday and a great weekend!

Happy Monday all!

I hope you had a great weekend!

For today's post, I'm excited to share this gorgeous Shein dress with you! If one dress could embody the essence of summer, I think it is this dress! The bright, bold color is stunning enough, but the dramatic tie belt that accompanies it, really brings it to life. Who would have thought that such a simple design could have so much character and life?!

The simplicity makes it easy to style. Today I kept it casual with wedges and a gold studded bag from Francesca's. I wanted the dress to stand alone for this post, before I try pairing it with different colors, belts, and accessories.

Thank you for reading! And I hope you have a great week! =)

Hey everyone!  Happy Friday!

For today's post I want to share some of my birthday fun this week.

On Wednesday night, I was able to have an amazing dinner with some of my favorite people. The restaurant -Fahrenheit- was incredible! The view was stunning. The food, great (we got a complimentary lamb meatball dish that was delicious!) And the company even better!

That was the night before my birthday.

On my actual birthday, my family took me to our favorite restaurant, I got one AMAZING chimmy chonga and of course a great cake!

I'll keep this post short, I just want to say it was such a great birthday! Thanks to everyone who came out! Thanks to everyone for the messages, posts, and texts! They all meant so much!

Thanks for reading and joining me on this journey!

XOXO

Hello and Happy Monday!

For today's post I'm sharing another birthday look with you. This top has been one of my favorite pieces since I found it 2 (maybe 3) years ago. I've previously worn it with shorts here and here. This time however, I chose to style it with distressed denim, a statement necklace, and sapphire bag.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, this top has such a great design! It has a romantic/goddess like feel to it. It can pretty much stand alone style-wise. Today though, I decided to style it with an equally dramatic statement necklace from Newchic.com.

And finally, this sapphire blue bag from Versona. I have had it for at least two years and I love it! It is one of my favorite bags! I don't use it as much as it deserves to be used -which I plan on changing stat! The design of it is beautiful, and the color stunning!

I hope you enjoy this post! Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday!!

It has been a long, but good week!

For today's post, I played around with a few different pieces. I used a black peplum top and black shorts as the base to build the look around. It is a little hard to tell it is a peplum top in the pictures, especially with the vest, but I really like the vest styled with it. It adds a little extra color and structure.

It has been awhile since I have worn a long necklace like this -mostly because being the clutz I am, I wind up getting it hooked on something *sigh.* But this strand of pearls is one of my all time favorites. I have had it now for a few year and can't find it in my heart to give it up. It is classic! And when I do use it, it really stands out!

It brings additional life to this look, without overwhelming it.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Monday my friends!

I hope you all had a nice weekend! Mine was great, but busy! -I'll get into that more next post!

Today's post is a particularly fun one for me. The look itself is an easy to style/easy to wear look that is great for a variety of different things. Day dates, lunch dates, running errands, shopping, or exploring downtown which is what I did -sort of!

I teamed up with a photographer, Michael (Dadphotographer on Instagram) and we had plans of where we wanted to shoot. Unfortunately Mother Nature had plans of her own and we had to work around it. It was pouring! Then it cleared up a little, then as I was arriving it began to pour again! Although we had to relocate, and dodge these short-lived rain storms everything worked out pretty good. The sun came out again and we ended up getting some great shots!

Working with Michael was great as well! Not only is he talented, he is also extremely nice and laid back. I was incredibly anxious driving there because I goofed and ended up running late to our shoot -which I hate being late for anything, let alone an opportunity like this! But Michael was gracious and understanding. During the shoot, we chatted about our passions -photography and blogging- how long we had been doing them, how we got into them, what our goals were. And by the end of the shoot I felt like I was working with a friend.

Thank you Michael for a great shoot and hopefully more in the future!

And thank you guys for reading and sticking with me on this journey!

XOXO

Happy Friday!!! =D

I am beyond ready for the weekend! This has been a really great week, but tiring! I am ready to just relax and unwind a bit.

A few years ago I started a tradition where I start -shortly after Christmas- putting money aside each month and then treat myself to a shopping trip in June as a birthday present to myself (that I don't have to feel guilty about!)

Today's post features two pieces I got on said trip. The pleated skirt and the dramatic necklace. I found the skirt first, at H&M and was instantly drawn to the rich color. In the dressing room I was already thinking of ways to pair it.

Later in the day, I came across this dramatic Jessica McClintock necklace and it was also love at first sight. Right away I knew I would pair it with the skirt, the contrast in colors would be perfect! I was not disappointed. The blue top was a fun surprise though. I tried them together just on a whim and ended up loving the whole look!

If you follow me on Instagram, this look maybe familiar. I wore it last Saturday to the grand opening of The Designer Square. My friend and one of the most ambitious people I know, designer Tygerian Lace created a new way for clients and designers to interact via this boutique. It hosts numerous other designers;  of course Tygerian Lace, Flow by Tara Davis, Felicity by BDPD ECRU, Emerald and Onxy (I've seen her designs several times and they are incredible!), Skyler James and KISH by KISH just to name a few!

The store offers custom, handmade pieces from designers as well as alterations and uplifts.

I met Tygerian Lace a few years ago and did a shoot for her once as well. Her designs are stunning and always leave me in awe. But she works hard and is always taking on new ventures. Not to mention she is one of the kindest people I have met. I definitely recommend checking out the Designer Square any chance you get!

Thanks so much for reading!

Have a great weekend!

Apricot Lane:: Tie-Waist, Slit Pants, Graphic Tee...

Hello! Happy Monday all!

I hope your Monday got off to a good start!

I can't even begin to describe how much I adore these detailed pants! They were a piece I never would have never crossed my mind ordinarily. Yet, on another adventure with Designer Diva (Vicky) and Melissa, of Charlotte Fashion Plate, I came across this treasure, tried it on, and ended up falling hard for it!

Besides being beautifully and uniquely designed, they are so incredibly comfortable! The linen fabric is light, and the slits are more than enough ventilation for these 90 degree + temps.

I kept the first pairing simple, with just a graphic tee, nude heels, and gold studded cross-body bag. I wanted the pants to really be the focal point of this post.

These beauties came from a trip to Apricot Lane Boutique in Stonecrest for those of you in the area. It is a beautiful store, filled with beautiful, one-of-a kind pieces like clothing, jewelry and bags. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We chatted like old friends and they were constantly asking if I needed anything and if they could start dressing rooms for me. Then they wrapped everything up so nicely when I finally decided on what I wanted to get. And yes, I know they do this for everyone, but I still left feeling a little like Beyonce. Which is why I will definitely be back!

Check them out and let me know what you think of these pants!

Comfy Chic:: Tie-Knot Tee and Leopard Print...

Hello my friends!

Just a quick post for today.

I'm sharing with you a super comfy look; a version of harem pants and a tie-knot tee. I'll start with the pants. I have had them for years and have a soft spot in my heart for them. They are so comfortable! I've worn them to events as well as after work when I'm just relaxing. They are easy to style and very easy to wear.

The tee shirt -from Apricot Lane Boutique- is so soft and light, which kept me cool while running around today! Plus I love the tie-knot design!

It was the mix of print and colors that drew me to this look in particular. The light blue really stands out well against the darker leopard print. The golden/orange of the bag really ties the too colors together.

Both pieces also have a very relaxed vibe to them, which I love as well.

Thank you so much for reading and have a great weekend!

Relaxed Summer:: Flats vs Mules...

Hello! Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend Mine was good, but BUSY! I was worn out Sunday. So I chose a very relaxed look for this post. This is one of my favorite summer looks. Its has a hippie chic feel to it and of course it is very comfortable.

I've had this shirt for years now! I wear it a lot of times, especially when I work out, or as a quick go-to. The design of the shirt is so effortless. It is one of those pieces that speaks for me.

I paired it with two different types of shoes just to get two different looks. The flats of course give it a more causal, hippy vibe. While the red mules dress the look up a bit.

As for the bag, I kept it the same for both looks. It seemed to gel well with the overall vibe.

Fun -well fun now not then- story about the bag. I have been carrying it a lot lately. It is genuine leather and such a beautiful piece. Well, over the weekend I was out running errands, with this bag. And it began to pour. I mean pour! I asked the cashier at the store I was at for a plastic bag to put my bag in -which she was gracious enough to do- and then made a mad dash for my car.

My bag and I made it home okay!  No water damage! =D

Back to the blog. Personally I love both looks. What do you think?

Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

Simple Styles for Manic Mondays...

Hello and Happy Monday!

I'm not feeling completely myself today, so this maybe a little shorter than usual. For that I apologize. I had a look put together for today and taken the pictures yesterday and was editing them also yesterday, and I really did not love the way the outfit came out in the pictures.

So I scratched that idea, which put me in a bit of a crunch today. But after thinking about it all day, I decided the only thing I would change was the bottom piece. Originally I had distressed boyfriend jeans that were lighter denim. Everything else stayed. I like this look much better!

I like the contrast of the pieces better for sure!

It is relatively simple style wise but looks polished and well put together.

Thank you so much for reading!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today, while I was sweating ungodly amounts during this shoot... running to the store... checking the mail... you name it! If it was outside, it was HOT! And I found myself wishing of cooler, fall like days ahead.

Which is what inspired this look.

This trench vest I found a few months ago and fell in love with the colors and pattern of it. Its heavier fabric so it will keep me warm in the cooler months, but also can work sometimes in warmer months too -just don't stay outside too long in it!

I loved pairing it with shorts. The difference in hems is fun to play with. The dark grey shirt and mules definitely are the anchors of the look. The darker hues are easy to style around. Also the angular design of the mules adds a bit of length to my legs -I'll take all the length I can get! ;)

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great week!

Hello all and Happy Monday!

It will just be a quick post for today because my Aunt is in town and I'm hoping to get a shopping trip in here soon with her and my mom!

This awesome jumpsuit I found on a whim! I went to a fashion show on Friday and on Wednesday night I went in search of something to wear to it. I didn't look very long. I went into Versona with something in mind but stumbled across this gem. In all honesty, I wasn't sure about it when I picked it up. I was drawn to the color, but I didn't expect much. But then I put it on and WOW!

I knew immediately it was what I was going to wear!

I switched the look up a bit for this particular post (Friday night I wore strappy, nude heels and a gold clutch.) But my Aunt saw these shoes in my size and got them for me! Automatically I was thinking how good they would look with this jumpsuit! They give it a much more edgy, tough look.

Thank you so much for reading and thank you Aunt Sherry for the awesome shoes! I can't wait to find more ways to style them!

I LOVE Target!

I mean who doesn't? Am I right? Well, Target has this new collection called Wild Fables  by Kay Ching.

So last night my blogging bestie -Vikee (DesignerDiva1103)-and I set out to check out this new collection!

The collection is an fun throwback to the 90's. I felt I was reliving my childhood in many ways as we perused through it. There was A LOT of plaid, crop tops a plenty, destroyed denim, mini back packs, parachute pants, and even a trendy new take on fanny packs are in this collection!

Vikee and I got a kick out of the line of mood rings that were available. I used to LOVE those!

The best part about the whole collection? Its very affordable! Which is good since I liked pretty much everything I saw ;)

Below are some of my favorite items from the collection! I'm definitely going back on my day off to check it out again!

Fun fact, it was almost exactly a year ago to the day that Vikee and I teamed up for our first joint blog shoot -also at Target! And the rest, as they say, is history! =)

Hello and Happy Monday!
I hope you enjoyed the surprise post on Sat!

Today's post is a special one! My Aunt was in town last week and we had a great time hanging out with her. She and my mom did A LOT of shopping! But we got a shopping trip in as well.

The three main pieces; the floral print duster, the bucket bag, and the booties, are all pieces my Aunt left behind for me to style and use on here. There is another piece that I will use in a future post. This duster I LOVE! I've love the colors and the print. It really stands out, and it can be used dressy -like I styled for this post- or dressed down, with jeans or flats. For this post, I really wanted it to pop, so I styled it around an all black outfit.

Don't let the long sleeves fool you, it is very breezy! And I love the way it moves with you, while you walk.

The light blue bag goes perfectly with the duster! As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to pair it with the duster. In fact I never realized how much I wanted a bucket bag until I saw this one! Now I can't wait to pair it with other looks! (I actually carried it for the first time on Friday, on the Target excursion!)

And how awesome are these booties!? My Aunt saw them on a shopping trip with my mom and thought I would like them -and I really do! They really elevate this look! They give it a chic look while also adding an element of toughness to it.

And finally, the shades! I collaborated with Hashtag Sunglasses and got these beautiful shades! They are very well packaged without any type of smudge and includes a bag to store your shades in to prevent smudges or scratches. If you're anything like me, that is a huge help! The shades themselves are very lovely as well. They have been carefully made and handled.

Well, thank you so much for reading! A special thanks to my Aunt Sherry for helping me out with this post/style! I really enjoyed hanging out with you! Come back soon! I love you!!

XOXO

"Hold up! They don't love you, like I love you. Slow down, they don't love you, like I love you." -Beyonce

I felt like I should be carrying a baseball bat around with me!

Kidding of course! But jokes aside, this look has some SERIOUS 'Lemonade' vibes to it! For anyone who doesn't know, I'm a HUGE Beyonce fan!

But back to the fashion! From the beautiful gold and black print, to the ruffles,  to the light and airy design these two pieces are a dream!

You read it right, this is a two piece ensemble!

While it works perfectly to create a maxi dress look. It is actually two separate pieces. Which makes it so much more worth the buy! There is more room for stylish recreations, pairings, and mixing/matching! This particular piece just spoke to me this time.

I actually thought today that it would be fun to pair this with black boots and a moto jacket for the upcoming fall season!

This look I found at Target!

A Stripes and Triangles Kind of Day....

Happy Friday!

I'm in a funky mood today! And I feel like it shows in this outfit!

While relatively simple in style, the stripes really pack a punch, especially when paired with the strappy, Versona heels! I have always loved these heels! They are always stunning, even when paired with outfits that don't include stripes! ;)

The other fun piece that really makes this look is this fun bag from Versona! Its' triangular shape is really full of character! It really stands out! The tassels are beautiful. And best of all you can carry it two ways. One with the strap on your shoulder or cross-body style - like I did for this post. OR you can loose the strap and carry it as a clutch!

Anyone have plans for this weekend? I will be working unfortunately but I can probably still find something fun to get into! ;)

Be safe and have fun!

Thanks for reading!

Family Ties Part 2:: Fringe Poncho, Booties...

Hello my friends!  Happy Monday!

Today I'm doing a part two of my Family Ties blog!

This is another piece from my beautiful Aunt, who was in town a few weeks ago. She left this behind thinking I could use it for a post as well as the duster

I'm not really one for ponchos typically, but this one is so beautiful. The red color with hints of gold is very versatile. It works well for the hot days of summer like today of course. But as we begin to transition into fall it works perfectly too. I can just imagine pairing it with an all black outfit and heels or boots! Or with a nice pair of flared jeans for a 70's vibe!

Its weird, suddenly I have no idea why I didn't love ponchos all along...

Thanks so much for reading! And a special shout out to my Aunt for lending me this beautiful piece for the post!

And stay tuned for more poncho looks in future posts.... ;)

XOXO
