Rainy Monday:: Leopard Print and Distressed Jeans...

Hello on this dreary Monday.

I hope you are all doing well!

Just a quick post for today. I am very excited that FINALLY it is beginning to feel like October! And actually the clouds kind of help add to that spooky, October mood I have been wanting! So I kept things very simple today; distressed jeans and leopard print! Double leo-print actually.

It was great to finally break out a scarf! This is one of my favorites. It is light weight and casual which works perfectly with this look.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a great week! =)

Hello and Happy Friday!!

Just a quick post for today! I found this blazer at Target, maybe two weeks ago or so. I have quickly fallen in love with it! I tend to consider it over-sized since it is longer than most blazers I usually wear. You may remember, a few posts back, I went on a Target excursion with my blogging friend, designerdiva1103. We found a similar blazer but the sleeves were a little too long -story of my life lol. We messed with sleeves; rolled them up, folded them over, created our own unique look, but at the end of the day I decided maybe it'd be better to sleep on it.

Well someone in the fashion sphere/universe must have seen our attempts and felt our short-girl pain, because I stumbled upon this blazer. Very, VERY similar to the original except the sleeves have some ruching detail, which makes me perfect for me!

I've already worn it several times and with many different pairings. One of my favorites was with shorts! But this is another fun look. Polished, but casual. The distressed denim is a perfect Friday piece!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Thank you for reading!

Hello, Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend! I spent mine mostly just resting, relaxing, and hanging out with family.

Today I'm sharing another piece that is one of my favorites for fall. I found this duster at Versona maybe a year or two ago, and never looked back! The printed sleeves are what drew me too it initially, but I also love how drapes and flows so gracefully when you move.  I have restyled it a few times, most recently, here.

This particular look reminds me of something one of the characters in The Walking Dead might wear -since we are nearing Halloween it seemed all the more appropriate! ;)

Its' comfy, casual, warm, and unique, what's not to love?

Thank you for reading!

Have a great week!

Hello and Happy Friday!

I'm ringing in the weekend with a somewhat monochromatic look. The sweater -from Grace Boutique, also seen here- has quickly become one of my favorite sweaters! It just drapes so effortlessly!

I kept everything relatively simple because I wanted the shoes to really stand out. They are also from Grace Boutique, and they are gorgeous! The details caught my eye right away and the fact that they were my size... sold!

I hope you have a great weekend!!

I LOVE Halloween! And the whole month of October!

I wish I had come up with a spookier post, but this look still embraces the October spirit. It is dark with small doses of patterns and it kept me warm today!

I know this post is a bit short, but I hope you enjoyed it!

Happy Halloween! Stay safe!

Hello all!

I am so happy to be back!

Gosh this week has been so busy! I packed up with my family and headed to PA for my Grandma's memorial service. I prefer to call it a memorial service because that is what it was, remembering her and all of the great times we had with her. She was an incredible lady for sure. She did a lot of amazing things in her life. One of her passions was photography. In fact, one of her pictures ended up on the cover of a magazine! I was lucky  to get her assistance on a blog shoot one time, when she visited us.

I am so grateful for the times we shared and the memories, I really loved seeing all of my family that I have not seen in years. We laughed, chatted, caught up, and took pictures -it was just like old times!

On to the blog! I was able to get a few pictures in today, and I hope you enjoy them! Its a simple outfit -just a fuchsia skirt and printed top- but with some additional prints and accessories it becomes a perfect look for a night out!

Thank you so much for reading and supporting me on this journey!

Grandma, I love you. This one is for you! =)

Hello and Happy belated Thanksgiving!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Full of good food and lots of family!

I apologize that I have not posted a lot lately. Things have been a little busy on my end. I have been short of time -at times- and short of a place to shoot. But the time away gave me time to relax and enjoy my family and friends. Plus I have had time to create new looks for future posts.

Starting with this one. I tried on this velvet tank top on a whim, not expecting much. Well, it ended up coming home with me. :) I really love this particular combination; the pairing of rich textures with distressed denim. It has a unique feel to it as well as a comfy feel!

Stay tuned for more holiday looks!

Thanks so much for reading!

Happy Monday!!

To kick off this week, I am going with a more complex look. Its fun, and I had fun putting it together. Once I got the velvet tank top, one of my first ideas was to pair it with lace. It is perfect contrast! My eye just happened to glance up at the pleather skirt.

I put a lot of thought into all of my looks and posts. Most of the time I pull inspiration from other bloggers or Instagram posts, and try to put a unique touch to it. But there are a handful of posts that I really enjoy because I felt like it is completely me. Usually these posts are exciting and incredibly nerve wrecking at the same time. But I thoroughly believe in having fun with fashion. If you feel confident in what you are wearing, you will feel good.

Thank you so much for reading and following!

Hey everyone!

Happy Monday!

It has been really cold here lately! I guess... it is December.. its time for it to be really cold! ;) We even got a few flakes here in the QC! Nothing compared to what other states are experiencing, in fact it was more just sleet. When I took these pictures, it had been raining all morning with no sign of letting up. I was not entirely sure if I would get any taken.

It finally let up enough that I braved the rain/sleet and got a few pictures taken.

This outfit is a bit simple honestly. But never underestimate the power of a plaid coat! I fully believe that bold pieces like coats can really elevate a look. The rest of the look is made up of a sweatshirt -from Shein.com,- skinny jeans, and faux suede booties -from Francesca's.

It is very warm and comfy for these cold December mornings!

Thank you so much for reading!

Happy Friday!!

Today's post may seem like I repeated a look -which I kind of did! I have paired this same velvet top and distressed boyfriend jeans -both from Old Navy- before in a previous post.

But the stand out piece for this particular post is the sweater. Two weeks ago I was about to attend a fashion show kind of last minuet and began looking around for a great dress to wear. While I didn't end up coming home with a new dress, I did come home with this gorgeous sweater from Vestique Boutique in Blakney -for those of you in the Charlotte area.

It has easily become one of my favorite pieces! Its chic and cozy, perfect for the crazy Charlotte weather!
With the holidays quickly approaching, there are a lot of great sales going on! Old Navy is 60% off the entire store! (I'll probably be heading there in the near future!) ;)

Check it out and happy shopping!

Hello all!

Happy Thursday!

I know, weird day for a post right? But I have been so busy this week. I will get to the fashion, but first I want to note on what a great month it has been. In the past I haven't been a big Christmas person, a lot had to do with my relationship at the time. Long story that I won't get into today. But since we parted -probably best for both of us- I have gotten more and more into Christmas. I've gotten to appreciate decorations and the music -well most of it. Last Friday my friend, Vicki -Designerdiva1103- went to Christmas Town down by Southpark and got into the holiday spirit with holiday music and elves and enjoying others enjoying the night. It was great!

Now, on to the fashion! Today's look is a little more simplified. The Sperrys have saved me many a time! They are comfy and casual and easily to style. For today's look I paired them with skinny jeans and a jacket and a bright, bold accessory -a scarf! And not just any scarf, a mammoth scarf! Seriously! I got this scarf a while ago, gosh... maybe at Forever21?  Honestly I don't remember. But it is soft, warm, cozy, and a great color! Plus it has served as a shawl at times and a blanket at times! Its wonderful!

This is a great casual look for anytime really! I hope you like it! And I hope you are having a great holiday season!

XOXO

Goodbye 2017:: Choker Sweater, Pink Mini...

Hello and Happy Friday!!

This is my last post of 2017!

I always get so sentimental this time of year. Its a celebration on the one hand, closing out another year and bringing in a new one; a brand new, fresh start. Nothing really technically changes, and yet it kind of does. At least to me. The new year has so much potential and hope -that is what I love about it.

For today's look I paired two very feminine pieces together. This look has a more laid back feel to it, in my opinion. After the holidays and getting really dressed up, I was ready for something easy. Before you label me as nuts for wearing the mini in these super cold temps we have been experiencing, I took these pics earlier -when it was a lot warmer! I knew the holidays would limit my blogging time so, one afternoon I got a few different looks I could use for posts.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Years!

See you in 2018!!

Thank you for your support, it means so much to me!!

Hello all!

Happy New Year!!

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's and are looking forward to this brand new year! I know I am! The start of the new year always seems quiet to me. I guess because it comes after a month (and sometimes more than that) of festivities and especially New Year's Eve. They are fun and I enjoyed them very much, its just not until they are over that I sit back, take a deep breath, and think 'wow its really quiet!' This is also nice, a welcomed change. It gives you time to think, and breathe, and rest.

For me, I am going full steam ahead with another year of blogging! Starting with a great sweater that you can wear many ways, but for today I am just showing you these two pairings.

I got this sweater.... gosh.. years ago, I can't even remember. But I have loved it and it has held up very well over the years! It has a looser, off-the-shoulder design to it (although clearly I opted not to wear it that way). That design is great post holidays where I know I am feeling a little fuller. Okay...ALOT fuller :x

These two pairings are pretty easy to pull off.  The first pairing; the sweater with a pencil skirt, is a little more business casual. The structure the skirt brings combined with the more abstract draping sweater, creates a great look overall! Of course I threw in a pop of red to anchor the look!

The second look -the sweater paired with boyfriend jeans and booties- is another easy look to pull off. Its also super comfortable! I have created several similar pairings that have saved me plenty of times over the holiday season when I am feeling... uh... fuller!

I hope you enjoyed this post today and I cannot wait to share more with you this year!

Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday!!

How has the first week of the new year been to you!? For me it was a pretty good week. I felt like I stuck to my resolutions pretty closely. I worked out even when I didn't want to, I rested when I needed to, I have been more honest with my feelings -don't get me wrong I still have a ways to go when it comes to improving myself. But I'm proud of the efforts I have made this week.

With every new year comes resolutions! The chance to start all over and recreate yourself. That is the exciting part of the new year and I'm no different. I have decided that this year, instead of just setting the same old resolutions, I am also going to come up with plans. For example, I love my blog and sharing with you guys. But there are plenty of days that I have brain fog or I feel uninspired, even just tired. In the past I have worked an 8 hour shift and then come home and tried to take pictures and create a whole post in two or three hours. I'm tired and don't have the patience for anything that could possibly go wrong. Being fatigued, my posts have been short and vague... that is not the kind of blog I want. I want people to read it, enjoy it, and maybe even get something out of it.

So, this year, I decided to create a plan for my blog. I decided that when I do have free time I will aim to take advantage of it. If it means getting shots of several different looks or writing up a post or editing pictures, that is what I am going to do. I may not be perfect at it all the time but it gives me something to strive towards.

Which brings me to this post, sort of! I mentioned last time that I took several pictures with different looks before the holidays because I knew it might be harder to get pictures in then. That is what brought that idea about. This is the last of those pictures.

This is a fun look that is relatively simple in style and easy to pull off. Every piece of this look are favorites of mine. The sweater and the skirt compliment each other well, while the pops of red in the mules and the clutch really pop.

Thank you so much for reading and stay warm!!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Today has been the first time in almost a week that I haven't gone outside and felt sure that I might become a cube of ice within a few mins.

Don't get me wrong, it is still cold but it feels more bearable.

Today on the blog I am sharing with you a great winter piece I found on Shein.com. The sweater with extravagant faux fur sleeves. I LOVE it! Of course because the fur is the focal point of the whole look, I wanted to keep things relatively simple; darker hues, simple prints, and of course a small dash of color.

What do you think?!

Hello all!

I hope you had a great weekend! I did! I went on a mini shopping spree -which I will share with you later- and I got to relax. The temps dropped though! Which changed my blogging plans but for the better, I think.

Today I get to share two beautiful pieces that were actually Christmas gifts. The first is the scarf. I can't tell you how much I love this scarf! It was one of those gifts I wasn't expecting but love! The pictures don't do it justice. In addition to be beautiful and bold, it is also soft and -in person- it shimmers! :D

The other piece in this ensemble that I adore is the moto jacket, which my sister got for me! I had one before that I LOVED and sadly it began to show it. I searched for a long time for the perfect jacket and I didn't find it. But this one.. this one is great! It is stylish and unique!

Together these pieces really pack a punch!

In honor of Martin Luther King day I want to leave you with a quote that meant a lot to me; "Faith is taking the first step, without seeing the whole staircase." This quote is meaningful in so many different aspects of life. When it comes to relationships or blogging or different ventures in life. It is an important thing to keep in mind.

Thank you so much for reading!

Hello all!

So for today's post I decided to stay within the same color family. I found this skirt at K La Boutique on sale and loved it at first sight! I had a vision for it from the start and the vision worked out very well!

I wanted to keep things as close as possible to the same color family. Browns, beige, cream colors, and orange -for a fun pop of color!

The blend of colors really compliment each other. The skirt is so comfy! I cannot wait to find more ways to style it!

Also thank you to my stylish mother! She let me borrow these booties for this shoot! And I think they really suit this look perfectly! :)

Hello and Happy Monday!

I know Mondays are not everyone's favorite day, but I -sometimes- really find ways to appreciate them. Its a new day, a new week, a fresh start. Today was one of those Mondays. I had a day off a got a lot done!

Today's post is simple in style, but I dressed up with peek-a-boo details and a little pop of color!

I love this look because it is so easily dressed up or down!

This same look with flats could be easily a day outfit, fit for running errands or meetings, or lunch dates! The possibilities are endless!

Hello and Happy Friday!!

I don't know about you, but I am ready for the weekend! It has just been a busy week! So for today's post I went for a more low key look.

I have worn similar versions of this before. It really encompasses many of my favorite things; distressed denim (from K La Boutique), pattern play (leo print and stripes) and a peplum top!

It is simple, but its great for many different purposes! Lunch dates, meetings, brunch, date night, many things! I may wear it out this weekend to a conference!

I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for reading, and I'll be sharing more for this conference in future posts!
